Hi Everybody,
Thanks for all your feedback on our Palm CellSpin Client.
Please download the 1.2.4 from our site. Please follow below instructions, if you have 1.2.0 on your device.
1. Remove the 1.2.0 palm client
2. Soft reset the phone (remove the battery & put it back).
3. Get the link of the software from http://www.cellspin.net/profile/account/
4. Install the application on the device.
Note: If you install the application memory card, it doesn't work properly.
Please let us know if you find any issues.
Thanks,
CellSpin Team

Downloaded 1.2.4 tonight with high hopes.
device: Palm Centro
Carrier: Sprint
What happened:
First post (picture) was seamless -- viewed it on CellSpin and Blogger.
Second post (picture) never appeared on either site.
Third post (Text) never appeared on either site.
Fourth post (video) appeared after a minute or two on both sites.
Fifth post (Text) never appeared on either site.
Would love for this app to work consistently like a charm. Not there yet for me.
What I would like to see (aside from consistent functionality) would be a way to post a picture WITH text to my blog. (The "post title" and "description" boxes do not allow for more than
a few characters.
Look forward to seeing next release.

I am back from playing with the software and found the problem (stated in the post above) to be partly my fault.
Following the selection of "post" one is sent to an advertisement with the button "Done" below. Don't click on "Done" as I had done; wait until the program itself sends you back to the selection page. Clicking on "Done" will forestall the sending of the data.
So I wonder aloud why the button is there.
I have now successfully posted several formats (picture, text, video) to my blog.
Thank you CellSpin.

Amonarch,
Thanks for your comments!
There is nothing wrong to click on DONE button in advertisement screen. If you click on the DONE button, it will take you to the main screen immediately or else it will wait for 10secs to go back to the main screen.
Posting the data to the server depends on the network connection. Please check the MainScreen->Menu->PostLog for more information on each post. If the post got failed means it was due to low network access and please check the network indicator on the phone.
Thanks,
CellSpin Team

Hi, tried v1.2.4 on my unlocked Treo 680.
Posted a photo to CellSpin and Facebook, nothing appeared anywhere.
Posted a camera shot to CellSpin and Facebook, nothing appeared anywhere.
Posted a text to CellSpin, nothing appeared.
No error message in the Post Log, does it mean that the data was transferred? Is there a time lag for publication? The Posting 1 message appeared for about as long as I would expect to transfer a picture, much shorter for the text message.
I would really love to see this work, but I haven't been able to post anything yet from my Treo (from v1.2.1 and up). The Palm Facebook client works like a charm, so I don't think I can blame my carrier.
Hope you keep putting an effort into the app, thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for your comments!
Please check the posting status on the main screen of the CellSpin application. If there are posts in progress, it will show it on the top corner of the main screen. like posting 1 or posting 2, etc..
Depends on the network connection, it takes time to post the data to the server.
Thanks,
CellSpin Team.

As I stated, the Posting 1 message appeared for some time on the main screen, and the Post Log says that the pictures and the text has been posted, but nothing has appeared on my profile pages so far of anything I have posted.

Psychofractor,
This recent Sunday PDT time we had an server side issue with our file storage on S3. You may have been inadvertently affected by that when you were using the new client.
We are in the process of making our service more robust so on the rare occurrence that it happens again service will not be interrupted, only delayed. :)

Psychofractor,
Looking through the server logs we found an issue with the version of the client you are running. We have updated the server to work around the issue, so please try it again when you have the chance.
The issue appears to be that timestamps are formatted differently on your Treo than expected.

Hi Marcos and Bobby,
posted photo to CellSpin and Facebook, and it worked! Great! Video post to CellSpin also worked, but still waiting for the video to appear on YouTube, though, a timelag?
Anyway, ready to go spinning, thanks!

YouTube takes some time because of their review policy for mobile. But it should be there eventually.
Have fun with CellSpin and tell your friends about it :)
Cheers!

Took CellSpin for a week-long spin on vacation using my Palm Centro. Posted to CellSpin and my blog on eblogger. Here's the review:
Software worked like a charm 90% of the time. As was stated in comments above, success depended COMPLETELY upon the strength of the network connection -- if I was not close to full bars, no success. (It took me several failed transmissions to figure this out.) Frustration ensued only when I entered a text post and clicked "done" only to find that the network connection was not strong enough and the text was lost. Would love to have a "save" mode available as is possible with picture or video.
I offer my gratitude to CellSpin for the product they've produced and plan to continue using CellSpin on my Centro (until I move to a better phone for the purpose of mobile blogging).

Still nothing on YouTube, can you check whether the video was sent from your server? It was successfully posted as "Hungry" to CellSpin at 10:54 AM Jul 24th.
Thanks.

Hi Psychofractor,
The video has been sent to YouTube. As we are currently using the email interface, there may be a delay in their email processing.
If you could, send email to support@cellspin.net and we can see what else is going on.

New version killed my Centro... :-(
Downloaded the new version to my Sprint Centro, (new, clean install), posted a text test message to cell spin, updated to cellspin website almost instantly, however, centro crashed when I tried to exit cellspin, (had to reset Centro by removing battery, and boy, was it hot!)

Hi capecodcrew,
Thanks for letting us know about this. We'll take a look at it. Is this something that happens consistently every time that you try to exit CellSpin?
